I Think I'm in Over My Head

I have seen a few different diamond patterns around the internet, money being tight - I opted not to buy any. . . now I'm thinking - I'm a fool! I have loved the look of the diamonds and have spent a few hours playing with paper diamonds, a few fabric scraps. I just had to do something with diamonds! So I took my tools to a jelly roll and started cutting - yeah probably 2/3's of the set is now diamonds. 336 diamonds per my calculations! I still consider myself a bit of a novice in quilting - I haven't done much with triangles, mostly squares and rectangles. Mostly because time is not abundant around here!
I thought that I would just figure out how to put the whole thing together as I went . . . not all too sure of myself now. I may end up with a top full of diamonds and nice borders around. I have to play with it some.
Do you have any suggestions? I was hoping to just use the jelly roll - I don't really have anything more to go with it. I could really use a pattern about now . . .

  5. Don't get discouraged, I think it looks great! Free Spirit has lots of free patterns on their site. Go to http://www.freespiritfabric.com/core-pages/galleryindex.php and most of the lower collections have free patterns to accompany them. Maybe you'll get some ideas there.
