Yesterday I cut out two bags :) It was a good day - and that was before noon! After bedtime I managed to put one together, the other is waiting patiently for a bit more free time.
Do you recognize it? It is the same bag I've been playing with for a while now - this version had been taunting me last week, when I had no time to sit down. Do you like this version!?
I had to add the touch of pink! The other bag I cut had lots of extra fabric, so I added the pink/gray panel. This bag has no quilting and I used fusible fleece for the first time - Love it! I need to go browsing for closures - any suggestions?
Have a great weekend ~
Amy

Such a cute bag! I love the little dose of pink that you added. It gives it a little sparkle.:)
Really love the bag Amy. Very cute. Have you tried magnetic closures before?
CUTE BAG!! I would find an awesome button and do that sort or closure if you still can. I tend to use magnetic snaps myself.
My wife would love this summer bag. I'll have to save this post to show her.
Have you thought of using a strap and button closure? Maybe a strip of coordinating fabric sewn on the back that falls over the front. Something that finishes to a point. You could find an oversize metal button. Silver or nickel would be stunning against the blues.
Thanks for sharing Amy!
Great stuff! And I got a good laugh from the Trojan add at the bottom of your page. I wonder who they think your audience is! :)
i love it!! i just finished a bag too! i love how they get finished so much faster than quilts!
This really is cute - I like the change to one strap. I find two straps get in my way - that's why all my bags have only one!
I use magnetic snaps - but you have to put them in before the top is sewn shut to hide the back. I like the idea of a button or something. I want to try experimenting with zippers...
Glad you love the fusible fleece!
Very pretty Amy -- I love the lovely colors!
What an adorable bag. Love your choice of fabrics!
love the bag. i was wondering how big it is?
I _adore_ it!!
This is a great bag! I just love the colors and this version is terrific.
I really really love this bag! It's such a great shape, with a great handle too. I'm thinking maybe just a magnetic snap for closure. You could also do a small flap that snaps to the other size. Don't you love working with fusible fleece? I wish I could find it in a bolt for quilts. Great job!
It's so cute! I love the colors. I'd probably do a magnetic closure. But that's just me :-)
lovely bag, beautiful colours and I was going to suggest the magnetic snap too :-)

LOVE IT, LOVE IT LOVE IT! And, I love it just the way its -- I'd leave it without a closure!
This is a beautiful bag! I love the cool colors in this
I absolutely love the bag. Amy Butler is the fabric artist that got me into quilting. It used to be my mother-in-laws 'habit' with all those, you know, country-cute fabrics. Then I found Amy and I was captured. I have made 2 lap quilts and 2 more lap quilt tops ready to be machine quilted (which she doesn't believe in, either). I just started my blog and have only recently discovered this new world of blogging. I found you only this morning. :) I love your pattern. Is it one of your creations?
Thanks for sharing. I am visiting family right now, so my blog doesn't have any pics up yet. But when I get home I am going to start posting. Come visit sometime! :)
