Quilt Along Top

Hi all! I managed to get my quilt top together! I love all the colors and beautiful prints. It is SO big!

My HUGE top :)

My helpers were holding it down while the wind was blowing :) I am still working out the batting and backing, really just crossing my fingers! Part of the quilt-along this week is a long-arm quilting giveaway :)

I'm super behind in my reader - I can't seem to keep up with it since school's been out! Maybe I'll do that tomorrow instead of sewing . . . maybe :)

Blessings~
Amy

  11. The colours are beautiful. I would keep on sewing. There is always time for reading later. (I can't believe I just said that. I have been a reader all my life).

  12. It looks like many flavors of ice cream all swirled together. Good enough to eat but I'd rather curl up on a couch or snuggle down in the bed with such a quilt. You did a great job.

  15. It looks fabulous!!! How many more half yards did you use than the original 12?

  16. Wow, that is a big quilt. Very beautiful and will look so great on a bed. I make so many baby and throw quilts it is always nice (although a pain at times) to make one that actually fits a bed. Anyway - just wanted to suggest looking for a king flat sheet for your back. That way there is no piecing involved and anyways backing of that size can get expensive quick because they require so much fabric. I've often been able to find a really nice top sheet at places like TJMaxx or outlet linen stores at great prices. Can't wait to see it finished! Way to go!

  22. Great job! How are you going to quilt it now? Do you have a longarm machine that you use?? I just bought a midarm machine, but am re-doing my room before I put it up because I know I will never work on the room after it is up and running! I have many quilt tops waiting for it to be ready!! :) Can't wait! I'm interested in what you're doing on yours!
