I can't believe I've finally pulled this pattern together! I am so excited to tell you that it is in my shop right now for sale! And, I went to get interfacing at my LQS earlier - they want to sell it too! And maybe make a class out of it! I wasn't even trying to market it there yet, I had the kids with me, and thought I would come back when I had my act together :)

ReplyDeleteCongrats! Nice to be able to make money doing something you love. I"m not quite up on fabric lines but I do like the small prints of Japenese fabrics I see online. There was another fab I saw with the cutest owls on it...course I can't remember where I saw it or the name of the line :(
ReplyDeleteI am still planning on making the quiltalong with you...just haven't had a chance to get upstairs...now that the garden and bushes are starting to produce, I may not be able to for a while or only get bits and snatches of time here and there.
I would make one up in Moda's Patisserie and one in Moda's 1974 for starters!

As an Aussie I have not really come across Amy Butler fabrics before in my local craft and fabric stores, but since discovering it through blogland I think I would order some to try out on this bag!

This is a great pattern and it looks like there is enough stabilizer to make it stand alone :) Very substantial. I would make this with either batiks or a combination of black and white prints (with maybe a shock of yellow).

I just recently discovered the joy of bagmaking ~ I always thought I couldn't master it...but now I'm addicted...
Although I would love to see it in some 'Deer Valley', 'Hopscotch', 'Mezzazine', or any Amy Butler fabric, I think I'd choose a variety of Fig Tree fabrics ~ not only because I love them, but because I already have it at home ;o).

This would be great in all kinds of fabric. I have a bunch, mostly orange & teal prints that I got from fabric.com earlier this year & would probably use some of those.

Great looking purse/tote! You know, I think I'd use some of my black and white fabrics--I just love the graphic look of blacks and whites! I'd perhaps throw in a strip or two of the turquoise/teal fabrics similar to what you used for a little punch. And you know what else I think I might try? I think I'd try to use some of that new Texture Magic on a couple strips--the stuff that Kim at Bitty Bits and Pieces has mentioned on her blog.
