I have had the privilege of working with Windham's Gees Bend collection of hand dyed solid fabrics! They are SO pretty, so much more than the color swatches online show. The slight variations in the fabric is really nice and adds depth to my projects!
(image courtesy of Sew, Mama, Sew)The quality of fabric is great too, nice weight and feel in my hand. Windham highly encourages a pre-washing in cold water and a color catcher in the wash after you have finished your quilt.

Hi there! Quilted Threads in Henniker, NH has the Windham Gees Bend fabrics and quilt kits, and you're right, they are divine! They also have the four reproduction quilts hanging in their quilt gallery for another week or so before they head on to their next location. They are spectacular in person, well worth the visit!
These look great! I have a hard time spending the same amount for solids as I do for printed fabrics, although if I start using these as design features maybe my attitudes will change.
Those do look delicious! I don't like solid because they look flat and have no depth but those look wonderful!
I loves these ladies, their stories and all the quilts. I was able to see the exhibit with my daughter when we lived in WI. We traveled all the way to Milwaukee to see the collection. Turly amazing!
I read about these fabrics, but haven't seen them in person or heard anyone using them. I like the colors, which look a bit different from other solids I've seen. I'm glad to hear what you thought of these beauties.
I bought two different Gees Bend kits at Hancocks of Paducah. They came in a little muslin bag. I am looking forward to starting them, but I have too many things on my plate until after Christmas (one of which is a new pug puppy who soaks up lots of my sewing time). The colors are luscious, and the fabric feels good. I haven't prewashed yet though.
I have just started selling my own solid dyed fabric - not exactly the same quality since it is very difficult and expensive to get good quality cotton.
