31 : : Boxy Tote Pattern & a Giveaway!

I can't believe I've finally pulled this pattern together! I am so excited to tell you that it is in my shop right now for sale! And, I went to get interfacing at my LQS earlier - they want to sell it too! And maybe make a class out of it! I wasn't even trying to market it there yet, I had the kids with me, and thought I would come back when I had my act together :)

The giveaway - I will giveaway two copies on Monday, August 3rd. Leave a comment, and let me know what fabrics you would like to make it up with. Also, I would love to have your help spreading the word, so grab my picture and post on your blog. Let me know you posted in another comment for an extra chance.

Thanks for your help and have a great weekend!

Amy

I have some great prints from Patty young just waiting for me to make them into something. This would be perfect. How exciting that your Quilt shop wants to carry it!

What a beautiful bag! I think it would look gorgeous in some Heather Baily Pop Garden or MoMo's Wonderland. I would love a chance to win the pattern. You are so creative. Thanks.

I would love to make this in an array of bright orange prints. Super summery! Or maybe in navy blue for winter?? LOVE IT!

Brenda said...

I'd go for prints and solids in aqua and b/w perhaps. congrats on the pattern.

I can't seem to stop using wonderland for EVERYTHING! But Lantern Bloom is tempting me lately as well...

What a lovely bag - it obviously has great structure, which is what I LOVE! I would use my hand dyed fabrics - cause I use them in everything!

how wonderful that it's for sale at your quilt shop! that's quite exciting! congratulations to you!

What a great bag and I wouldn't change a thing. The fabic you used are perfect!

Cathy said...

I think it would be cute in a medley of holiday prints, say, Halloween or Christmas. But those modern graphic prints you chose look fabulous!

So great that your LQS wants to retail the pattern. It could be the start of a new career.

Carla said...

I've just posted about your pattern and where to purchase on your Etsy shop. Good luck with the sale!

Adorable bag! Congrats on getting it out there. I would love to make this in either Good Folks or Flower Power fabrics.

I'd love to win a copy of the pattern. I would make your bag out of gold/blue/brown scraps that I bought recently (I wish I knew the name of the line!) They look vaguely oriental. Sadly, although I claim to have a blog I haven't actually done anyhting with it yet, so I can't enter that way.,
Good luck! (and I'd love to see your pattern in my local quilt shop www.quiltersdream.ca but I have no idea how you'd go about doing that.

Congrats! Nice to be able to make money doing something you love. I"m not quite up on fabric lines but I do like the small prints of Japenese fabrics I see online. There was another fab I saw with the cutest owls on it...course I can't remember where I saw it or the name of the line :(

I am still planning on making the quiltalong with you...just haven't had a chance to get upstairs...now that the garden and bushes are starting to produce, I may not be able to for a while or only get bits and snatches of time here and there.

I would make one up in Moda's Patisserie and one in Moda's 1974 for starters!

Great looking purse/tote! You know, I think I'd use some of my black and white fabrics--I just love the graphic look of blacks and whites! I'd perhaps throw in a strip or two of the turquoise/teal fabrics similar to what you used for a little punch. And you know what else I think I might try? I think I'd try to use some of that new Texture Magic on a couple strips--the stuff that Kim at Bitty Bits and Pieces has mentioned on her blog.
