I've had a couple of good days of mail! Friday my Doll Quilt arrived, and Saturday my STUD mini arrived :) Time for some pictures --

Swap Til You Drop

The swappers over in flickr really do Swap Til They Drop! I often just watch as the sign-ups are happening, but when "spring flowers" came up as the theme - I couldn't standby :) My tulips have just finally opened up and a fun little quilt is a great alternative to the real thing - at least in my mind!

You have probably already noticed that it is very similar to this quilt sent for DQS - I worked on them simultaneously :)



There are lots of cute little quilts in the group pool over here - and if you happen to be interested in getting involved in swaps, this is a great place to start! Great group of swappers each month - just go talk/flickr mail the admin :)

In all the holiday hubbub I nearly forgot to show you this little gem! Sewwunderful created this sweet little tree quilt for me. I love all the little details and the stripes are really fun.

Christmas Cottage - December Swap

Lish was the happy recipient of this mini quilt. I must give credit to Jacquie for her inspiration! You can see the Christmas Villages she has created here and here. It was really fun to make and I'm so glad that Lish is happy to have it her home :) If you want to see more of the swap mini's check out the flickr group.

I've been working on my doll quilts for the girls, and doing some baking. Also, Jenna is home for a month so we have been catching up, and hope to do more baking this week. I will share my list - once I get it together :)

November Swap - part 2

I was so excited when the mail box had a package for me today! I have been patiently waiting for my mini quiltie from my first swap. Remember this little gem? I mailed it to Lucinda, while she mailed me this
and this! Having grown up in the Northwest - green and brown have been favorite colors for most of my life. And since having baby girls - pink has grown on me a lot! I even wear it now :) She wasn't sure about the first and made a second - then sent both! How sweet!All the little details in this quilt are so fun and whimsical. My girls ooohed and aaaahed over it for a while - I'm putting it out of reach, so I don't loose it to a baby doll. :)
I was not going to participate in December, but as the sign ups continued on during November - I couldn't resist. I'm having fun :) My December swap quiltie just needs a label and it will be in the mail.

November Swap

I got word from Lucinda that my two-color quiltie made it to her the other day. Now I am free to share it with all of you :)It was a bit dark the day I took pictures - I had to get it in the mail or I would have ended up keeping it and making something different to send! The pattern is called Wedding Bouquet - I had stumbled on an abandoned site with tons of free blocks - I really liked the flower and it was just two colors!
I had borrowed a book from the library last time that had a lot of influence over this quilt. Creative Quilting with Beads - it was a fluke I even picked it up. I had Owen in my arms, and Sophia following me (the older two I trust alone for a few moments) I was just checking the smallish shelf for something new that I hadn't already checked out. Since I make bracelets too, and love beads, it was a win, win situation! As I started adding beads, I had a general idea of how I wanted it to go, and my creative juices flowed :) Hand quilting seemed ideal for this little patch (12" square). It twinkles in the sunlight - I'm so glad that Lucinda loves it! I had such a blast putting all the little details into it.
