I don't have kids, so luckily miss out on much of the gross stuff others have commented about. Recently though I got out my summer purses and one of them had a spider in it -- YUCK

great bag, and I love that Wonderland fabric! grossest thing in my bag was a long time ago when I had a container of lime yogurt that burst... yech!

What a beautiful bag! That would have to be a sticky spoon my son used with crumbs of some teething biscuit and used tissue! I've been better since keeping those separate. =)

Holy moley! You have a lot of comments! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love this bag. With a 20-month-old, I have lots of weird things in my bag... snacks and crumbs, wipes, sippy cups that always seem to leak....

diplofam said...

I love this bag, I can fill it up with lots of goodies!! I have two totally gross and embarrassing items I have found in my bag in the past week-#1-an exploded container of Hot Mustard sauce from McDonalds.
#2-OK, this is really disgusting but I will tell you anyway--I am currently nursing my 6 month old son and I'm sure some of you know where this is going...I found an old nursing pad (3-4 days) full of milk molding to the bottom of my bag-it was green and blue! Ha! So I really need this bag because the mold is not coming out when I wash it!! OK enough confessions...
Thanks for hosting!

The worst mess I've ever had in my purse was a bag of Goldfish crackers that opened up and emptied in my bag. Ugg, smooshed cracker crumbs in everything. Thanks for the give-away.

Mindy said...

This bag is scrumptious :) I have a big purse right now and probably the nastiest thing in it is dirty bandaids that my kids sneak in there when I am not looking! Yuck!

I'm rather proud of this random thing: I have a mini-spray bottle of lysol in my purse. Must have found it one day while I was out shopping and it screamed, "I need to live in your purse!" You never know....

Your bag is very cute!

such a lovely bag... I was *unpleasantly* suprised to find an OLD sippy cup in the bottom of my purse last week - curdled milk - yuk!

Holy cow! I am the 418th post? Good for you!

Grossest thing ever found in my bag? Gotta be a sippy cup with curdling milk.

Ariane said...

Love this bag. The most gross thing that I ever found in my purse was a minigo yogurt that I had quickly thrown in my purse for a snack for my daughter. When I reached in to get it out it had exploded inside my bag. I was very distraught if you can imagine. Well, that purse didn't survive. I had to get a new one. So sad..yeah right. lol

Lindsey said...

I wonder why you are opening yourself up to all the amazingly gross possibilities this post is asking for...but I think an old mushed up banana was just about the worst! Yes, it happened to me!

My mom is the queen, though, she'll often find things like the morning's cereal bowls or an extra set of flip flops, or an entire meal in there. For my bridal shower the host played a game in which we all got points for all the strange things we had in our purse...she had, like baby food, a desk's set of pens, a thousand credit cards, dvd's...and so much more. I'm sure you can imagine.

I started carrying a little pocketknife in my pocket years ago. The mini scissors and tweezers often come in handy. But, it's not much of a girly item to carry, and when I pulled it out in college to assist in making something for a group project, the guys were all astounded that I had such a thing.

That is gorgeous! Since I have a 2.5 year old, I always have a random assortment of things in my purse. Right now they include princess stickers, lollipops and a secret binky.

I don't have anything gross in my bag, but the most useful things I have in my bag are tweezers and safety pins...I have used them and lent them to others time and time again, very handy. You are giving away a gorgeous bag, I would love the chance to win xo

Goodness that bag is pretty! Look at all your comments! Well, I would have to say the worst was when a cap came off the hand lotion and it was all over everything in the bottom of the bag. Pretty gross to stick your hand into.

Simply precious! It would be wonderful to show off and then tell everyone about your site! I can't think of anything 'gross', but most embarrassing was a bunch of matchbox cars of my boys left in there when I went through security at the courthouse for jury duty! Maybe they thought that's what I brought to pass the time!

Unknown said...

Gorgeous purse!

The grossest thing? Had to be when I had a diet coke in my bag. Somehow a little spilled. I didn't think much of it...I cleaned it up and took my wallet out to dry off a little. (honestly it was hardly anything that spilled!). However, a few days later my husband was packing it up with diapers, etc for our daughter and something brown, soggy and crumbly was all over his hand.

No worries :) It was just a chips ahoy from one of the 100 calorie packs--I guess I didn't get everything that got wet! Hehe :)

Thanks for an amazing giveaway--and I love your new haircut!! It looks really good!

What a wonderful and beautiful purse! I am always finding things my kids put in my purse: toys, candy, and food.

The biggest mess I ever had in my purse was when my toddler unbeknownst to me unwrapped a bag full of Hershey Kisses and put them in my purse they in turn melted over everything. Had one huge Chocolate coated peanut cluster, but instead of peanuts there were pens, loose change and all the other stuff that finds its way into my purse. Gross.

So pretty! I'd love to win! Thanks for the chance. Worst thing I've ever found in my purse... that's got to be on Sunday nights when I realize I've forgotten my Friday lunch dishes in my work bag! Eww!

I love your bag!! The grossest thing I have found at the very bottom of my purse was a smashed up piece of gum which made everything nasty and gross. Took me a while to totally get it all off too. Big Pain!

In my purse right now - a small container of butter.

Maevy said...

I love the fabric and the design of your bag. I carry very little in mine, so the chances of finding something gross in there are slim... But who knows, I haven't checked in a while!

Gorgeous purse!

Something horrible in my purse--well, it was horrible at the time. I was in sixth grade and ruffling through some stuff, when I pulled out a maxi pad without realizing it and laid it on the lunch table! Half the girls had never seen one before, and the boys nearby even noticed. I was mortified! Thanks for the memories, hehe. ;)

wonderful purse. wonderful fabric. Thanks. with four children you can bet I found wierd things in my purse, but the cheese knife would have to be the funniest. My daughter put it in their after cheese and crackers one night...fun!!!

I love the bag!! Well I have not had anything very gross in any of my bags. But I made my grown daughters bags crocheted out of recycled shopping bags last year and the middle had it sitting in her car and while driving one of her 4 boys was not feeling well and got ill in it. I think that would be considered gross. Thanks for the chance to win! Your music is also the best!

Just recently, I found myself impaled on the business end of a paper parasol (like from a Chinese restaurant) that my friend suggested I keep from my drink...

What a gorgeous bag! Once I left a wrapped piece of chocolate in my purse pocket and the proceeded to completely forget about it. A couple of weeks later I reached into the pocket to the messiest, meltiest, disaster. To make matters worse, I was at a store check-out and had nothing to wipe the chocolate goo off my hands. Really traumatizing! :)
Thanks for the giveaway!

Pick me! Love the bag. Thanks for the great givaway. You never know what you'll find in my purse.

Jody Sanders said...

So cute! Oddest purse item ... for years and years I carried a crib screw in my purse ... long after the crib was gone. There was no reason for it to be there, it just was. I have nothing too strange in my purse these days, the oddest item is probably a tweezers because I have no idea how it got there.

Libby said...

Live goldfish. I had gone fish shopping and they were in a plastic bag and it was a hot day and so I didn't want to leave them in my car when I had to go into the library for a bit.

Well, something broke the bag. I noticed when my purse started dripping.

The fish were swimming in my purse.

I have too many things in my bag. A mini thing of PlayDoh, bandaids, tylenol, crayons, are those uncommon or normal? I did have a half eaten protein bar melt in there last week. I can't believe I forgot it was in my purse!
Thanks for offering such a great giveaway and if I win, I promise not to let anything melt in the bag :)

Oh Amy, can I play? You know I love Wonderland. In my handbag - a Lego Darth Vader figure with a note from my son stickey taped to him that says :

"I do not need a tray. I am Darth Vader, lord of this space station."

(If you don't know what that's about, go to uTube and search for Darth Vader Cafeteria and laugh your head off.)

I don't know if I've ever found anything really gross in my purse. However, I have an active 2-year old boy and with his interest in the worms and snakes he finds in our garden, I'm thinking my day might be coming! Beautiful bag & I have no idea how you accomplish all that you do with 4 kids.

I don't really have a story of anything gross in my purse since I'm somewhat of a neat freak, but I remember one time I left a lipstick in my jeans pocket and washed it with the clothes. Honey didn't appreciate red spots all over his tighty whities lol.

Ilona said...

What a great, colorful bag is this! Love it :)
Once in church on of my boys didn't like a candy he got, and spit it out in a paper hanky, which I put in my purse. Forgot to take it out when I got home, and the other day I searched for my keys and found this little treasure... yuck!

Love Wonderland, and love that purse! Random stuff in my purse? Well, I always laugh at the baby items I find in my purse. Random cheerios, spare underwear (for the kids, not me!), dirty cloth nose wipes (ick!) and perhaps a toothbrush. LOL.

I used to find really gross stuff in my purse when I had a toddler. Sandwich crusts, mushed chocolates wrapped around a pen, beetles and "dried" flowers - and I never caught my daughter putting them in :)

I constantly find unwrapped pieces of gum in my bag, how they manage to manuver themselves to this status I am still unsure of. I've hired private investigators.

What a great bag!! I recently found a boarding pass in my purse from a flight I took before my son was born. It made me feel old!

Tee said...

I love your bag! This is gross, just funny/sweet...when my twins were babies they were always kicking off their little socks or booties. I always had random socks in my purse (and back pockets) I would go to pay for something and all of these socks would come tumbling out. Now I just find their socks everywhere but in their sock drawers! Thanks for the chance to win.

Laura said...

Beautiful purse and a wonderful design. I've just started quilting and am into all things sewn right now. My brother says that in order to be a "real woman" you have to carry a purse big enough for a roll of duct tape. Well, instead of that, I carry two purses. One is a large purse separated into two big compartments- one for diapers, wipes, and hand sanitizer. The other is for crayons, paper, snacks and other misc kid things. Then my purse is about 3.5" x 5" and holds my wallet, my "kid wallet" (with their insurance cards and birthday money). I can't really even fit a pen into that purse!
I love your blog and have just subscribed. Your hair cut is perfect for your face shape. :)
Meanwhile, find out more about me at taylorgal.etsy.com. You can contact me there too.
Thanks for blogging!

I wanted to mention that I loved looking at all the handmade creations for this Giveaway. It has gotten me thinking about what I could start to make and sell.

The most random.... I'll go for gross... one of my kids still wears a diaper. So sometimes, in those days that I forget to take everything out of the backpack/purse I'd find a dirty diaper (wrapped in a plastic bag!!!) but not really nice surprise. Looking forward to no diaper days and small bags or purses!

For this bag.... it's for mama! :-) so very beautiful. thanks for sharing.
